Sagawa Implementation Guide

Introduction

Generate labels, electronic trade documents and special services as well as tracking and manifesting.

Preferences

In order to create a Preference for Sagawa in the Multi-carrier application please obtain the credentials below directly from the carrier. Typically this information is obtainable from your carrier account manager or your internal logistics team.

How to Test

If you don't have your live credentials available during implementation phase, Zenkraft can provide test credentials. Click on the Use Test Account toggle and select the Test Account Country from the dropdown.

Sagawa supports one shipment level reference. This can be set in the wizard or mapped from the custom address source.

International Shipments

Sagawa does not support international shipments.

Special Services

These are special services offered by the carrier which can be selected either during the Shipment creation, or can be defaulted in the Custom Address Source.

Delivery Date and Time

You can preselect a delivery date and time slot when the parcel should arrive.

For the delivery time the following time frames are available:

  • Before noon - before_noon
  • 12:00-14:00 - 12_14
  • 14:00-16:00 - 14_16
  • 16:00-18:00 - 16_18
  • 18:00-20:00 - 18_20
  • 19:00-21:00 - 19_21
  • 18:00-21:00 - 18_21

Cash On Delivery

This service enables the customer to pay for the package upon delivery. Please check your contract first to see if this service is included.

Identity Verification Service

This service requires the sender and the recipient to set up a password and to use a special label type. This special service is currently NOT supported via the API.

Manifesting

Sagawa requires you to manifest your shipments before you deliver them to your pickup driver or you drop them off for shipping.

Create the "Manifested" checkbox

We recommend creating a new custom checkbox field on the Shipment object called Manifested, so once the shipment goes through the manifest process this checkbox is checked and the shipment can be filtered out from future manifests.

Generate the manifest

Once you are ready to manifest your shipments at the end of the day you need to go the the Sagawa shipping preference, and then click on the Manifest button.

The first time you get to this page, please set it up as you see in the screen below, and click on the save button.

Then you can click on the Get Shipment Count button then on the Get Manifest button to generate the manifest. You can find the generated PDF in the related Notes and Attachments of the preference.

Error Messages

In this section you can find the most common error messages, what they mean and how to solve them.

Sagawa API: SAGAWA_E1-0016: Client address 1-2 exceeds the maximum number of characters allowed

This error usually occurs if the name or the company name exceeds 25 characters. The 25 character limitation applies both for Roman and Kanji characters
