Conga


1. Conga Introduction

Conga Composer® makes it easy to create and deliver sophisticated documents, presentations and reports from Salesforce® by automatically populating richly-formatted templates with data from any standard or custom object.

Install connector by contacting your Conga Account Executive and/or Engagement Manager.

2. Create a new Solution Record

To create a new solution record in Solution Manager:

1. Click the Conga Solutions tab.

2. Click Create New and select Conga Solution.

3. n the Conga Solution Name field, enter a name for the solution.

4. In the Master Object field, select a master object from the list.

5. Click Create Record.


3. Create The Button

To create the button in Solution Manager:

On the Conga Solution screen, click Create Button.

4. Add an Existing Report

To add an existing report to a solution using Solution Manager:

1. In Solution Manager, click Add Report Data.

2. The Conga Solution Report screen appears. All available reports appear in the list.


2. Select a report.

The report name and ID appear in the boxes to the right.


3. In the Alias field, type an alias for the report.

4. Click Add Conga Report to Solution Record.

5. Solution Manager adds the report to the record. The report appears in the Selected Reports area.

6. Click Return to Solution Record.

7. Click Update Button to add your changes to the current button URL.


5. Create and Add a New Report

To create a new report and add it to a Solution Record:

You must have a solution record created and open.

On the Conga Solution screen, click Add Report Data.

On the Conga Solution Report screen, click Create New Report.


The Create New Report screen opens in a new window.

3. In the Select Report Type area, select a report type.

A preview of the report is shown in the right pane.

4. Click Create.

5. The standard Saleforce Report screen appears with the unsaved report information

Use this screen to build and save your report.

Click Help for this Page in the upper right of the screen to access Salesforce help on using the Report Builder


6. Return to the Conga Solution Report screen and click Refresh to view the new report.

7. In the All Available Reports area, click the report to select it.

The report name and ID appear in the boxes to the right.

8. In the Alias field, type an alias for the report.

9. Click Add Conga Report to Solution Record.

Solution Manager adds the report to the record. The report appears in the Selected Reports area.

10. Click Return to Solution Record.

11. Click Update Button to add your changes to the current button URL.

12. The report name and ID appear in the boxes to the right.

6. Add an Existing Query

To add an existing query to a solution using Solution Manager:

You must have a solution record created and open.

1. In Solution Manager, click Add Query Data.


   The Conga Solution Query screen appears. All available queries appear in the list.

2. Select a query.

The query name and ID appear in the boxes to the right.

3. In the Alias field, type an alias for the query.

4. Click Add Conga Query to Solution Record.


Solution Manager adds the query to the record. The query appears in the Selected Queries area.

5. Click Return to Solution Record.

6. Click Update Button to add your changes to the current button URL.

7. Create an Add a New Query

To create a new query and add it to a Solution Record:

You must have a solution record created and open.

  1. On the Conga Solution screen, click Add Query Data.
  2. On the Conga Solution Query screen, click Create New Conga Query Record.
  3. In the Name field, type a name for the query.
  4. Click Save to save the query.
  5. In the SOQL Select Statement box, type the select statement for the query.
  6. Click Save to save the query.
  7. Return to the Conga Solution Query screen and click Refresh to view the new query.
  8. In the All Available Conga Queries area, click the query to select it.
  9. In the Alias field, type an alias for the report.
  10.  Click Add Conga Query to Solution Record.
  11.  Click Return to Solution Record.
  12.  Click Update Button to add your changes to the current button URL.
  13.  The Conga Query Edit screen opens in a new window.

Or

Use the Conga Query Builder button to build a SOQL statement.

Solution Manager adds the query and displays the Conga Query screen with the record loaded.

The report name and ID appear in the boxes to the right.

Solution Manager adds the query to the record. The query appears in the Selected Queries area.

7. Select a Sample Record

To select a sample record in Solution Manager:

  1. On the Solution Manager screen, click Access Template Builder.
  2. In the Sample Opportunity Records box, click a record to select it.
  3. Click Select Sample Record.
  4. Click Return to Solution Record to return to the solution record.

The Conga Solution Sample Record screen appears, showing a list of sample records.

Solution Manager updates the Sample Record ID field.

Or

Click Access Template Builder to open the Conga Composer for the selected record to preview the merged document or create a new template.

If no existing template is available, you can build one...

To build a template using the Conga Template Builder:

The solution record must be loaded and a sample record selected.

  1. On the Conga Solution Record, click Access Template Builder.
  2. Verify that a sample record is selected.
  3. Click Access Template Builder to launch the solution in Conga Composer.
  4. In the Conga Composer window, click Tools & Settings > Template Builder to launch Template Builder.
  5. In the Copy Field Format area, select the document type for the template.
  6. In the Options area, select or clear the Use Text-Based Merge Fields box to format the fields using the text-based format—such as ##{{Product_Name}}—or the traditional merge field format—such as Product Name:«Product_Name».
  7. In the Options area, select or clear the Include Label box to include or ignore field label as merge fields are copied into the template region.
  8. In the left pane of the Template Builder, locate and double-click a field to add it to the right pane.
  9. In the left pane of the Template Builder, click a field name and click the right arrow to add it to the right pane.
  10.  Repeat the previous step to add additional fields.
  11.  Click Create and Download a New Template button to have Conga create a new template document containing all of the fields in the right pane.
  12.  Save the template document.
  13.  Click The Back button to return to the Conga Composer window.

...And then add the new template to the Conga Template Manager.

To add a template to the Conga Template Manager:

The document template must exist.

  1. On the Conga Solution page, in the Useful Links area, click Create New Conga Template Record.
  2. On the Conga Template Edit page, in the Name field, type a name for the template.
  3. In the Template Type field, select the type of template to add.
  4. Click Save to save the template record in the Conga Template Manager.
  5. On the Conga Template page, click Attach File.
  6. Click Choose File, select the document template to use, and then click Open.
  7. Click Attach File.
  8. Click Done.

The template record is created and the Conga Template page appears.

Add an existing file template to the solution record.

To add an existing template to a solution using Solution Manager:

You must have a solution record created and open.

  1. In Solution Manager, click Add Templates.
  2. Click a template to select it.
  3. Click Add Conga Template to Solution Record.
  4. Click Return to Solution Record.
  5. Click Update Button to add your changes to the current button URL.

The Conga Solution template screen appears. All available templates appear in the list.

The template name and ID appear in the boxes to the right.

Solution Manager adds the template to the record. The template appears in the Selected Templates area.

8. Add Parameters

To add parameters to a solution:

You must have a solution record created and open.

  1. Click Customize with Parameters to load the Conga Composer Parameter screen. The parameter list is divided out into sections based on functionality. Click the plus sign to expand a section and view the parameters in that category. Click again to hide the parameters in the category.
  2. Click a parameter to see information and settings for the parameter.
  3. Click Select Parameter to select the parameter.
  4. Enter a value in the Parameter Value field.
  5. Click Add Parameter to Solution Record to save the selected parameter to your solution.
  6. Repeat to add additional parameters.
  7. Click Return to Solution Record to return to the solution record where you can update the button URL.

The Solution Manager Parameter Picker auto-fills the Parameter Name field.

The Parameter Picker will enter a default value of 1 automatically for parameters with On/Off functionality.

9. Test the Solution

Test the solution.

To test a solution:

  1. Click Select Sample Record.
  2. Click the record you want to use as the sample record for testing. It will auto-populate the Sample Record ID field.
  3. Click Submit & Return to Solution Record.
  4. Click Launch to launch Conga Composer.

This will add the sample record to your solution and allow you to test your solution against this record.

The Launch button is now enabled in the Button Syntax & Test Launcher area.

You can now run a merge, check your settings, open the Template Builder, and access any other parts of Composer necessary to adequately test your solution.

10. Add The Button to Layout

Add the button to a page layout.

To add or remove a Solution Manager button on a page layout:

You must have a solution record open with a button created.

  1. In Solution Manager, click Manage Page Layouts.
  2. In the Available Page Layouts area, select a check box next to a page layout to add the solution button to it.
  3. Click Add to Selected Layout(s) to add the selected buttons to the layout.

You can add buttons to more than one page layout.

Or

Click Remove from Selected Layout(s) to remove the buttons from the layout.

A confirmation screen appears.

11. Configuring page layouts for use with Box

To configure page layouts for Box:

You must be logged into Salesforce. You must also have

In Salesforce, navigate to and edit the page layouts for each object you wish to use with Box.

From the layout menu, click Visualforce Pages.

Click and drag Sections to the appropriate place on the page layout.

For Section Name, enter Box and select a 1-Column layout.

Click OK.

12. Configure Box to work with Conga Composer by following the steps below

To configure Box with Conga Composer:

For proper integration, you need to send collaborator invites to users from Box.com so the Salesforce integration can properly manage permissions. See Box.com for instructions on sending collaborator invitations.

You also need to Configure Page Layouts for Use with Box.

3. Click on the two heads (Users and Groups) icon.

4. Click on +Users.


5. Enter a Name and Email.

6. Click Add User.

7. Install Box from the AppExchange.

8. After Box is installed, in Salesforce, click All Tabs, then Box Settings.


9. Make sure you are logged in as your Admin user. Then, on the Box Settings page, click Box API Admin Login.

For proper integration, you need to send collaborator invites to users from Box.com so the Salesforce integration can properly manage permissions. See Box.com for instructions on sending collaborator invitations.

You also need to Configure Page Layouts for Use with Box.

Email Label Integration

  1. Navigate to Fedex Shipments Tab in Saleforce, shown below
  2. Click into any Shipment
  3. Click onto Email Label, shown below
  4. When clicked salesforce should bring you to a page similar to the one shown below,

Now you have created and sent an email containing the shipment label.

4. Create a Custom Address Source based on your Formula Fields

You can now use our Custom Address Source functionality to map your new formula fields to the fields in our shipping wizard.
