In this section you can find the most common error messages, what they mean and how to solve them.
ZIP4 Data Value too large
This error usually occurs on older versions of the Multi-carrier application. See this guide.
'IO Exception: Read time out' or 'The remote computer refused the network connection. Error encountered (Log ID: xxxxx)
These error messages usually appear when there is an Endicia server outage.
Solution: please try again later.
"Failed to receive a valid Account ID" or "Account ID XYZ is invalid. Error encountered"
Please make sure you are using the latest version of the application and Demo mode is turned off.
"List index out of bounds: 0"
This error usually occurs when the Endicia account does not have USPS web tools enabled. To solve the issue you need to register and then enable USPS web tools.
- Create a USPS Online Tools ID by clicking "Register Now".
- Once you have the User ID log back into Salesforce.
- Go to Setup > Custom Settings > Zenkraft General Settings, then click Manage, then Edit.
- Check the "USPS Tracking" checkbox and enter the web tools Used ID to the "USPS Web API UsedID" field.
- Save your changes. All USPS shipments will now be tracked using USPS Web Tools via the Track Shipment button and Scheduled Tracking.
"Missing or invalid element: WeightOz. Error encountered"
A common cause for this error message is if the weight has two decimal or more decimal places. USPS-Endicia only allows for one decimal place in the weight. You either need to round the weight manually to the closest one decimal place or use a ROUND formula to do that. From v108 onwards this is done automatically.
"Invalid PIC received: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx"
This error usually occurs when the shipment was generated using First Class service, as it is not possible to track first class shipments.
